My name is Jade and for over 20 years I have been a Family Day Care Educator. Throughout this time, my husband Kain has been an incredible support, always joining in on building mud kitchens, forts and embracing the many fun, messy and sometimes wild ideas that have popped up along the way....so he wasn't surprised when I enlisted his help to create a sensory play business!
Over the years, we've witnessed firsthand how society, family structures and play trends have changed. One play trend that has remained constant over the last two decades is potion play. A lovely reminder that children’s natural curiosity leads them to explore, create and dream endlessly.
As a child, I spent hours with my Troll dolls, creating tiny worlds from garden treasures and bits and pieces I could find. That freedom to imagine and create has stayed with me and now lives on through The Tiny Toadstool, inspiring children to explore and bring their own magical potions to life.
.During play, we notice how simple, natural, sensory rich experiences can ground children, connect them to nature and foster curiosity, all without the need to keep up with internet trends or the latest craze. Play doesn’t have to be complicated to be magical. By slowing down, children can enjoy stress free, meaningful experiences and parents can relax, knowing their little ones are exploring safely and joyfully.. And let's be honest... it wasn't really that long ago when we were also loving creating potions as kids too!
It was during a play session that the simple idea sparked: "Let's bring this magical, sensory play to other backyards.." And that’s how The Tiny Toadstool was born.
Since then, we’ve been testing, playing and exploring new ideas alongside our “Tiny Testers,” discovering what truly sparks curiosity and ignites the senses. Every creation is shaped by real play, real children, and real moments of wonder.
We can’t wait to bring a little fun, imagination, and exploration to your backyard, creating experiences that are simple, playful, grounded in nature and filled with magic for children and parents alike.
